I believe words are more powerful most things in this world. They have found me in my darkest times and shone light into every corner of the room. I have found life and meaning and curiosity in words. In some of them I even found hope.

When I was little I used to sing in the shower. Now? I make life decisions in there.

Do you ever wonder how long it takes to change your life? What measure of time is enough to be life altering? Is it four years like high school? One year? An eight week rock tour? Can your life change in a month, or a week, or a single day?

Sometimes you have to be your own hero.

Live every day like you're Glen Coco.

If you could go back and change one thing about your life, would you? And if you did, would that change make your life better? Or would that change ultimately break your heart? Or break the heart of another? Or would you choose an entirely different path? Or would you change just one thing, just that one moment you've always wanted back?

Imagine if you suddenly woke up and your whole life had been a dream, and you're actually a completely different person, living a different life in a different world.

If your eight year old self met you, would they be proud?

Frame every disaster with these words, "Will this even matter in five years?"

This life is yours. Take the power to choose what you want to do and do it well. Take the power to love what you want in life and love it honestly. Take the power to walk in the forest and be a part of nature. Take the power to control your own life. No one else can do it for you. Take the power to make your life happy.

Think how different your life would be if you had never met the person who changed everything.

Calling someone fat doesn’t make you any skinnier. Calling someone stupid doesn’t make you any smarter. All you can do in life is try and solve the problem in front of you.
(Mark Waters)

Why dream? Life is a difficult assignment. We are fragile creatures, expected to function at high rates of speed and asked to accomplish great and small things each day. These daily activities take enormous amounts of energy. Most things are out of our control. We are surrounded by danger, frustration, grief, and insanity as well as love, hope, ecstasy, and wonder. Being fully human is an exercise in humility, suffering, grace, and great humor. Things and people all around us die, get broken, or are lost. There is no safety or guarantees. The way to accomplish the assignment of truly living is to engage fully, richly, and deeply in the living of your dreams. We are made to dream and to live those dreams.
(Susan Ariel Kennedy)

I love that feeling. You know, the one you get when you take a deep breath and suddenly everything feels like it’s going to be okay. When you’re hopeless as can be, and life is going nowhere, there’s those moments we have every now and then where we just stop, and we get this feeling, that can’t be described, but you just.. You just feel like everything really is going to be okay. Like the world stopped spinning for a second, and everything was clear. I need more of those moments.

My only regret is not doing half the things I heard I did.

When I was younger and I got my photos developed, I could never throw any away. Even the ones that were so blurry you couldn’t tell what they were showing, the ones that made people look like fading ghosts, the ones that were all black with only one spot of misty white, I would keep in the same box with the good pictures that had turned out the way they should. I think the reason why I kept all of these photos was not so much my inability to throw anything away, not even my habit of never letting go of any memory, but moreover, it was for the moment when you would look through the photos and after having gone through one, two, three blurry, faded, black pictures, the one that had actually turned out alright seemed just a lot more precious. It was the fact that the beauty shined a lot brighter compared to all the mistakes I made. It was the fact that beauty needs ugliness to be seen. It was the fact that all my imperfections were just as much a part of my work than were my successes.

I like the quote on life beginning. Sometimes we get so caught up in the future that we forget about the here and now I have wasted precious time on waiting for the perfect time. I want to live my life to the fullest now. Make everyday count.

It's the easiest thing in the world to say you'll live your life to the fullest, it's harder to actually do it. I really, truly hope you do.

Suzette - Aww, thank you. :) I just found the quotes, to be honest. I hope your niece and nephews like them though.

Louie - Haha. I don't have a philosophy of my own, per se. I just subscribe to a lot of other things people have said. But thank you. I do want to teach though, just to heap my thoughts on a bunch of youngsters who could be molded and made to do my bidding.

Life, indeed is a mystery. It's the topic that I like most, the beauty and ills of life, but not to discredit that life is a wondrous gift from above. When we are past our middle age, we tend to look back and try to analyze what have we done during the prime time of our lives. It's when we feel a kind of pang of identity crisis when we evaluate we haven't made our life a worthy one. It must have been true that life is what we made it. Nonetheless, whatever it is, we made a life on our recount. So it's really the essence of time and determination to do what you want to achieve in life. You're really fascinating since you write profusely about a variety of topics, your enthusiasm is really impressive. At your age, it's more than an achievement. Continue to do so and provide useful insights to all your followers...
