Hub Report: Week #8

71

By JEDIJESSICUH

This will be my last weekly hub report. Not necessarily because I'm having a baby in a month, but because all good things must come to an end. My time here on HubPages isn't over by a long shot, but these next couple months I will be taking a break from the site for the most part. I will be doing the annual National Novel Writing Month challenge in November and during/after that I'll be taking care of a newborn. Come the new year I plan to do the 30 hubs in 30 day challenge just to get me restarted here on the site, but until then I can assure you that my publishing with likely take an even bigger drop than it already has. I will maintain a member of the community answering questions and posting comments on hubs, but I doubt I'll be terribly active in the production of my own work.

So for old times sake, here's a last peak at my stats, at least for a while.

I am less than four dollars away from my first payout here on HubPages and while $50 isn't much in today's society, I'm excited that I've finally reached this point. Hopefully I'll be able to rack up enough to get it this month, which will definitely help when it comes to buying various stuff for our newborn. I'm still only a fourth of the way to getting a Google AdSense payout, but I've stopped caring so much about my clicks and earnings there. If they come, they come.

My new goal is to figure out how the eBay program works. I was accepted yesterday and it's still pretty much a mystery to me, so I might scan the forums and see if anyone else can explain it to me. Who knows if it'll make me any money whatsoever, but I thought the same thing about HubPages and look at me now, closing in on my first check after only two months of work.

Google has become a prominent member of my traffic sources now. There's still two hundred plus views from foreign Google's on my source list, but they're not in my top ten. My work with Xanga has also paid off, as I more than doubled my views from that site in the past week. Compared to last week I'm making fifty cents a day from natural traffic, which I hope stays that way while I'm gone. If it does, then it's safe to say I'll earn roughly $28 during November and December in my time off. Which would be nice, the whole earning money from something I've already done thing. If not, then I'll be content with whatever I do make. Any money is better than no money.

Well there's not much else for me to say, except good luck and I'll see you around the site. Maybe I'll even answer a question or two of yours, who knows. :) No one forget me in my absence these next couple months. I'll be terribly saddened if I come back and no one remembers the Jedi who struck gold with Reddit.

Here's to your safe delivery and a triumphant Return of the Jedi(Jessicuh). Your writing will be missed until then.

Enjoy the new baby when you deliver. I seriously doubt you will be forgotten, nor will you be away for long. I can see you writing away while baby sleeps. Have a safe delivery.

You should deff post hubs about baby advice as a new mommy! Congrats. I'm curious where you find that breakdown of all the info in your table? Or do you make it yourself? I've looked everywhere in my stats to find even just the info but maybe I'm being silly ;p

Maralexa, Dungeon Raider, AEvans and Cyndi10 - Thanks. :) I hope you'll all be here when I return. It would be terrible if HubPages lost such nice people.

Heather - Which info can't you find? I get everything from my general statistics on the 'my account' page and the 'traffic sources' page. Factoring my earnings just requires selecting the 'last 7 days' choice from the drop down menu and looking at it that way. What in particular is vexing you?

Best of luck with the newborn. Chatting with you and following these progress reports helped me a lot in the beginning to figure out how to get my traffic flowing. I'm really glad you took the time to do them, I'm sure they've helped others as well.
